Guatemala Itinerant Photographer Oil on Canvas Portrait, "Wooden Horse"$1,454.99
Seated beside a dock on the shore of Lake Atitlan, an itinerant photographer awaits new customers. A spotted wooden horse is his prop for the souvenir snapshots popular with tourists. Yet business is slow and the man seems dejected, his face hidden beneath his cowboy hat. "Caressed by the north wind called accompanied by his wooden horse, a photographer silently sees his dreams slip away with every client that does not show up," says Guatemalan artist Mario Sergio Aviles. "The hours go by to the sound of gentle waves, and the man is introspective as his disappointment grows."
Titled "Wooden Horse" in Spanish.
Artists compose surrealist paintings that offer a unique portrayal of love and beauty, while vivid blue paintings seem to bring the actual presence of the artist's subject into the room. Dance and music paintings depict performers' enjoyment, cleverly depicted in a portrait.
