The legendary Nana Daka, or "King's treasure box" in Akan, inspire the design of this jewelry box. Ahmed Baba Osmanu crafts it by hand with sese wood and embossed aluminum motifs featuring the image of the Ashanti throne on the lid and on sides. On the front is Hye Wonhye, the Adinkra symbol for endurance. Featuring brass hinges, the box closes with an aluminum latch.
Ahmed Baba Osmanu has received 5 microcredit loans with 0% interest from Kiva and Novica, the first for $100 and the most recent for $300. Proceeds were used to invest in the wood, metal plate, polish and paint that he uses in his sculptures and wood- work.
